Teaser Tuesday – 6/1
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.
Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
– Grab your current read
– Open to a random page
– Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
– Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
This week my teaser comes from The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux.
Here it is: “He kissed her lips; but the night that surrounded them was rent asunder, they fled as at the approach of a storm and their eyes, filled with dread of Erik, showed them, before they disappeared, high up above them, and immense night-bird that stared at then with its blazing eyes and seems to cling to the string of Apollo’s lyre. Raoul and Christine ran, eager to escape from the roof and the blazing eyes that showed only in the dark; and they did not stop before the came to the eighth floor on the way down.” 49% (reading on kindle)
