2013 New Year’s Resolutions – How Did I do?
So last year was the first year I did blogging New Year’s Resolutions. So how did I do? My resolutions for last year are listed below along with how things went….
1. Stop reading a series if I don’t enjoy it.
Result: Success! I was much better about this in 2013. I dropped a number of series I didn’t enjoy reading. Yes, I felt unfaithful and like a bit of a cheater or something for not finishing the series. But I was able to let this go!
2. Keep my review pile under control.
Result: Success! This kind of ebbed and flowed throughout the year. I kept my review book backup usually around 10-15 books throughout the year. There were a couple times in 2013 that I lost control and ended up at 30-40 books, but I quickly got it back under control. So I say it was a success!
3. Reduce my To Be Read pile. In 2011 I ended the year with 275 books in my TBR pile. In 2012 I was down to 261…okay, so not great but at least it is going down.
Result: Fail. I ended up at 274 books in my TBR pile at the end of this year…. There are just so many great books out there to read. I will try to do better in 2014.
4. Do more spontaneous posting and be more socially active.
Result: Fairly successful. I moved my blog over to wordpress this year, which was a ton of work but well worth it. The whole blog was renamed and redesigned. (So thanks to those who followed over to Hidden in Pages from Karissa’s Reading Review). The only reason I mention that is it drove me to do a lot more social networking in order to build up traffic to the new site. There wasn’t as much spontaneous posting as I would have liked. But I did participate in a lot of meme’s, blog tours, blog hops etc.
Stay tuned for my 2014 resolutions which I will be posting later today!
