This is the 17th volume in the Claymore series. This book was much more cohesive than the previous books. There is a lot of action and the story makes some pretty awesome progress.
Everyone has headed to the West. The Abyss Feeders along with Beth and Alicia are determined to take out Riful. Meanwhile Clare and her crew are also heading in that direction. Things culminate when Rafaela/Luciela awaken into a creature more terrifying than anyone could have imagined.
I continue to really enjoy this series. I loved that this book told a more cohesive story that the previous ones have (that is to say there wasn’t as much jumping around between different storylines).
Clare has some pretty heavy character development here, she interacts with Rafaela/Luciela in a very unexpected way. I loved that, we haven’t seen a lot with Clare and her unique abilities in the last couple books. I was a bit disappointed that Raki wasn’t in the story more, we see him briefly but not a lot more than that.
I loved the turn the story takes once Rafaela/Luciela awakens, this was just so awesome. I can’t wait to see where the story goes with these developments.
I continue to enjoy the action packed scenes in these books, the drawing is very well done as well.
Overall this was a fantastic installment in the Claymore manga series. I would definitely recommend this series to fans of fantasy manga. It’s action packed, has wonderful characters, and a very intriguing storyline.
