Best Urban Fantasy/Paranormal of 2015
Welcome to the 4th post in my “Best of 2015” series. These are the urban fantasy novels that I read and really loved in 2015. I didn’t read as many urban fantasy books this year as last year. I kind of got burned out on the genre and read a lot more fantasy.
That being said I did find a couple amazing new series: The House Immortal series by Devon Monk and the Steel and Shadows series by Annette Marie. I also continued reading a lot of my old favorites.

House Immortal Series by Devon Monk
This was a phenomenal series that was a blend of Frankenstein retelling, science fiction, steampunk, and urban fantasy. The whole story was set in an amazing world and featured spectacular characters. Highly recommend especially to urban fantasy fans. Every book in this series was amazing.
Book 1: House Immortal
Book 2: Infinity Bell
Book 3: Crucible Zero

Splintered series by AG Howard
This has been a fantastic retelling of Alice in Wonderland. Very creative and very dark. This was a wonderful wrap up to this series.
Splintered Book 3: Ensnared

Steel and Stone Series by Annette Marie
I picked this up on a whim and am so glad I did. This is the absolute best YA urban fantasy series I have read this year (and in a long time). The characters are wonderful and the layers of realms fascinating. The story is completely engaging and impossible to put down. This series was my best reading surprise of the year.
Book 1: Chase the Dark
Book 2: Bind the Soul
Book 3: Yield the Night

Cainsville Series by Kelly Armstrong
While I enjoyed the first two books of this series, I absolutely loved the third book. This is a mystery heavy urban fantasy that has been slowly growing on me. I actually am enjoying it a lot more than her Women of the Otherworld series.
Book 3: Deceptions

The Incryptid Series by Seanan McGuire
This has been another very fun and entertaining urban fantasy series by McGuire. I really enjoy the action, the characters, and the general craziness of these books.
Book 4: Pocket Apocalypse
———————————————————————————-
The Iron Fey Series by Julie Kagawa
This series is finally wrapping up. I really loved how this final book brought together so many elements from previous books. It was very well written and masterfully done!
Book 7: The Iron Warrior

The Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews
I have been a huge fan of this awesome urban fantasy series forever. The books just keep getting better and better. I hope it never ends!
Book 8: Magic Shifts
