This is the third book in The Naturals series. This has been a very well done mystery/thriller series. The story makes some big progress in this book and you can start to see how clever the over-arcing story has been put together. This is a creepy, clever, and absolutely engaging read. There is supposed to be one more book in this series.
Cassie is enjoying the holidays with her family and hoping for some peace. Then her dad shows up with some disturbing news; there’s been a break in the case around her mother’s death. This news leavess Cassie reeling, but unfortunately she doesn’t have time to fully digest it before The Naturals are called in on a case. There are a string of murders taking place in Las Vegas; it’s been three murders at three different casinos in three days. If The Naturals don’t work fast someone else will die. However, what they uncover is more disturbing than any one serial killer could ever be.
This book was pretty darn awesome. It brings a lot of elements from the first two books together and there are some major revelations as well. The majority of the story is told from Cassie’s POV, however there are interludes again told from the killer’s POV (which are super creepy).
If the first book was Cassie’s book and the second was Dean’s; this book is Sloan’s book. Sloan grew up in Las Vegas and she has some big secrets about her life there that are slowly revealed. I love Sloan as a character and it was awesome to learn some history about her.
We also see learn a lot about Michael and Lia’s past in this book. Michael continues to have a very disturbing relationship with his father and is spiraling out of control. Lia reveals some very…well…revealing secrets about her past that will leave the reader reeling.
This book is full of awesome characters that are so complex. It’s also filled with an awesomely complex and clever plot that I really really enjoyed. It keeps you on the edge of your seat, constantly trying to put the pieces together and guessing. It throws constant twists and turns at you and is absolutely compelling and engaging.
Overall I continue to really enjoy this series it is very clever and very engaging. I love the characters, the clever puzzles, and the engaging plot. I would strongly recommend to those who enjoy thrillers/mysteries. This series is really well done.
