I read a lot of steampunk this year and much of it was very entertaining and fun. Below are the steampunk books that really stood out from the others for me.

The Secret Order by Kristen Bailey
This was a wonderful YA steampunk series. I loved all the adventure, the puzzles, and the crazy inventions. I would highly recommend to steampunk fans.
Book 2: Rise of the Arcane Fire
Book 3: Shadow of the War Machine

Breath of Earth by Beth Cato
This was an incredible book, first in a new series, by Cato who wrote the Clockwork Dagger duology. I was incredibly impressed with the world-building, the magic system, and the amazing characters. Highly recommended to both fantasy and steampunk fans alike.
Book 1: Breath of Earth

Lady Mechanika by John Benitez
This graphic novel series has been out for awhile. I really enjoyed the detailed artwork, the interesting world and the amazing Lady Mechanika. I look forward to reading more graphic novels in this series!
Book 1: The Mystery of the Mechanical Corpse

The Custard Protocol by Gail Carriger
This series was on the list last year as well. I think this is Carriger’s best series yet and continue to enjoy the humor, the adventure, the romance, and the crazy inventions throughout this series. I love this series and can’t wait for it to continue!
Book 2: Imprudence

Blud series by Delilah S. Dawson
The full length novels in this series have been very good but not spectacular. The novellas however have been amazing. I would definitely recommend giving some of the novellas a read if you enjoy paranormal steampunk. The Blud world is an amazing one. These books are a blend of steampunk, gothic, fantasy, and vampires. They are also heavy on the romance. I have really enjoyed these and am absolutely in love with the Blud universe.
Book 1.5: The Mysterious Madam Morpho
Book 1.6: The Peculiar Pets of Miss Pleasance
Book 2.5: The Damsel and the Daggerman
Book 3: Wicked After Midnight
Book 4: Wicked Ever After
