“The Black Swordsman Guts’ former captain and lover, Casca, has been taken by the Holy Iron Chain Knights to the “Tower of Conviction” of the fanatic torturer of the Holy See, Mozgus, who plans to treat the rumored witch to the proper agonies of the damned, but Guts is on his way to rescue Casca and dish out some chastisement of his own on any who get in his way. But forces in the demonic realms are in motion and are being drawn to the torture tower in what may be a prelude to a second Eclipse and an unprecedented release of malign spirits into the world!”
This the 20th volume in the Berserk series. In this volume Father Mozgus is determined to sacrifice Casca to demons and Guts is determined to rescue her. Meanwhile Luca meets the Skull King who surprisingly saves her, while showing her some of the crazy events that are taking place.
There is a ton of fighting between Guts and Mozgus and his unholy minions. At the end of it all the Godhand rises again….
The illustration is in keeping with previous volumes; very well done. The story makes a lot of progress, which I love. There continues to be a lot of action and fighting and violence; this is for mature readers only.
Overall another excellent volume in the Berserk series. I continue to really enjoy this series and love how well done it is. Recommended for mature fans of horror fantasy manga.
