“Former cop Lily Yu has her sister’s wedding to attend, a missing magical staff to find, and now must deal with her grandmother’s decision to return to the old country. Lily could turn to the man she’s involved with for advice, but for all the passion that flares between them, she doesn’t really know Rule Turner–she’s just bound to him for life. Rule happens to be a werewolf, and Lily wonders just how far she can trust him.”
This is the 2nd book in the World of the Lupi series. There are 14 books in this series right now. This was a good continuation of this series. I continue to enjoy the story and the characters. I really enjoyed all the time we got to spend in Dis and the unique creatures we meet there. This is much more of a fantasy/urban fantasy than a PNR which is fine with me.
All the above being said by the end of the book my interest was starting to lag a bit. There was maybe just too much thrown at the reader at once. I am interested in how things play out with the dragons and did like their introduction into the story. However, I am not sure I am intrigued enough about it to continue this reading this already very long series.
Overall I enjoyed this book and would recommend to urban fantasy fans if you are looking for a decent UF read. However, I am already reading a lot of UF series and this one doesn’t make it to my top five. As a result I probably won’t continue with the series. I may come back to it someday if I run out of other urban fantasies to read; it’s a decent series just not spectacular.
