“After a catastrophic epidemic kills every adult on earth, vampires arise from the shadows to enslave the remaining human population. Yuichiro escapes from captivity and joins the Japanese Imperial Demon Army. But before he’s allowed to fight vampires, he has to complete his first, terrifying mission–make new friends with his fellow aspiring monster slayers!”
This is the first volume in the Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign series. This was a very good manga about a post-apocalyptic earth where humanity is fighting both vampires and monsters by joining with demons.
The first half of the book introduces us to the main characters and shows us how the children of Earth have been being used by the vampires as cattle. Then the book jumps 4 years into the future where Yu is training to be a vampire executioner.
The illustration is well done and the story was interesting and easy to follow.
Overall this was a great start to this manga series. It is one I plan on continuing to read and I would recommend it.
