“After a catastrophic epidemic kills every adult on earth, vampires arise from the shadows to enslave the remaining human population. Yuichiro escapes from captivity and joins the Japanese Imperial Demon Army. But before he’s allowed to fight vampires, he has to complete his first, terrifying mission–make new friends with his fellow aspiring monster slayers!
Now that Yuichiro has earned his place in the Japanese Imperial Demon Army, he prepares to undergo a fiendish test to acquire the most powerful and deadly of humanity’s weapons against vampires—Black Demon Series Cursed Gear. Meanwhile, the vampire nobility welcome a new member—Mika, the best friend Yuichiro thinks died in their escape but who has his own bitter story of survival.”
I really enjoyed this second volume in the Seraph of the End series. I love that there is a quick summary of characters and story-thus-far at the beginning of the book. The illustration continues to be well done and the story was highly entertaining.
In this volume we get to see our lone wolf hero, Yuichiro, get his demon gear and learn about what really happened to his childhood friend (who he has presumed to be dead).
The illustration is top notch and easy to follow. I am enjoying where the story is going and find that characters highly entertaining.
Overall this was a great continuation of the Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign series. I would recommend to those who enjoy post-apocalyptic themed manga series with lots of action, vampires, and demons.
