“Chise Hatori has lived a life full of neglect and abuse, devoid of anything resembling love. Far from the warmth of family, she has had her share of troubles and pitfalls. Just when all hope seems lost, a fateful encounter awaits her. When a man with the head of a beast, wielding strange powers, obtains her through a slave auction, Chise’s life will never be the same again.
The man is a “magus,”a sorcerer of great power, who decides to free Chise from the bonds of captivity. The magus then makes a bold statement: Chise will become his apprentice-and his bride!”
This is the fourth volume in the Ancient Magus Bride series and I really loved it. This continues to be a very high quality manga series that absolutely sucks me in to the story.
In this volume Chise is sent away to make her wand in the company of dragon’s and of Elias’s old mentor. The time apart makes both Chise and Elias contemplate their relationship. Additionally we get a look into Elias’s history and how he came to be the mage he is today.
The illustration remains top notch and I love some of the new characters we meet. This manga remains fun but also very thought-provoking and intriguing.
Overall I continue to absolutely love this series! It’s a very well done, high quality manga that I am enjoying a ton. I will definitely continue reading it and would recommend to those who love fantasy manga with a lot of magic and interesting characters.
