“What Teacher feared most is true–the child Shiva has been afflicted with the curse of the Outsiders. Yet somehow, even touched by the blight, she remains human. How can it be possible? And what of the Insiders, and the revelation from their Holy Father? His divine words portend trouble for Shiva and Teacher alike…”
This is the fifth volume in The Girl from the Other side series. I continue to really enjoy the simple fairy-tale like story and the unique illustration style. I am also reading The Ancient Magus Bride right now and this manga does remind heavily of that one.
In this volume Teacher and Shiva discover what’s happened to Auntie and have more interaction with Mother. Meanwhile the King takes action to ensure the curse never spreads again and soldiers invade Teacher and Shiva’s forest home.
I love the illustration style of this series; it’s so unique. I am also enjoying the story as we try to unravel the mystery behind this curse that turns normal people into monsters.
Overall this was a wonderful addition to this series and I continue to really enjoy it. I would recommend to those who enjoy simple fairy-tale like plots with beautifully unique illustration. I definitely plan on continuing the series.
