“After mistakenly putting Elias under a sleeping spell, Chise can’t find a way to wake him up! She turns to Angie for help, and brews a potion meant to undo the spell–but the process is so exhausting, Chise ends up falling asleep herself. Upon entering a dream world, she crosses paths with the person she least expected: Cartaphilus. But something’s off–the amoral alchemist seems to have lost his threatening edge. Meanwhile, in the outside world, trouble is brewing…on a dragon-sized scale!”
This is the seventh volume in the Ancient Magus Bride series. This was another very well done volume in this series. I continue to enjoy this series a lot.
In this volume Chise works a potion to help wake Elias up after she accidentally spells him to sleep. Then Chise and Elias receive word that Cartaphilus has stolen some dragon hatchlings. Chise calls on contacts from her past to find out where the hatchlings are being auctioned off. However things get out of control when the dragon steals magic to push itself into a growth spurt. Now only Chise will have enough magic to stop the dragon from wreaking havoc.
Illustration, story, and characters all continue to be very well done. The story is highly entertaining and engaging and I enjoyed it a lot.
Overall this is a great continuation to this manga series. I would recommend to those who enjoy fantasy manga with a lot of magic in it.
