Women in Science by Rachel Ignotofsky
This would be a great read for anyone; especially good for girls and women who are interested in science. This is one of the best books I have seen about women in science. It does a great job of highlighting these women’s lives in a brief page space.

Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson
This is an amazing read that everyone should read. It touches on a sensitive topic and is not a comfortable read. The writing style is addictive and completely draws you into the story; just an amazing book about something that should be discussed more.

Glory O’Brien’s History of the Future by A.S. King
This was a crazily creative book that I found both highly entertaining and a bit scary and creepy. The future portrayed here was scarily possible and absolutely terrifying..I loved it!

Marley & Me by John Grogan
This was a very engaging and well done memoir about pets. I enjoyed it a lot and would recommend to those who have dealt with difficult pets in the past or just like reading about pets in general.

Boy’s Life by Robert McCammon
This was an amazing read, it was so much more than I was expecting. I think this is one of those books everyone should read. It’s a great look into the past, a thrilling story, a wondrous look at growing up, magical, and a great look at family too!

A Heart in the Body in the World by Deb Caletti
This was a fantastic read that really makes you think about our society’s attitudes and the increasing levels of violence. I would recommend to those who enjoy contemporary YA fiction about inspiring heroines struggling against great odds.

Wild Swans by Jung Chang
This was a fantastic read that I could spend a lot of time talking about. The writing style is a bit rough around the edges at times. However, the fascinating topic and the engaging way it was presented made up for that. I learned a ton and really enjoyed the book a lot. I don’t read a ton of history but this book presents history in a very story-like fashion that is easy to engage with and stay engrossed in.
