“Charley Davidson, Grim Reaper extraordinaire, is pissed. She’s been kicked off the earthly plane for eternity―which is exactly the amount of time it takes to make a person stark raving mad. But someone’s looking out for her, and she’s allowed to return after a mere hundred years in exile. Is it too much to hope for that not much has changed? Apparently it is. Bummer.
She’s missed her daughter. She’s missed Reyes. She’s missed Cookie and Garrett and Uncle Bob. Now that she’s back on earth, it’s time to put to rest burning questions that need answers. What happened to her mother? How did she really die? Who killed her? And are cupcakes or coffee the best medicine for a broken heart? It all comes to a head in an epic showdown between good and evil in this final smart and hilarious novel.”
This is the thirteenth and final book in the Charley Davidson series. This was an amazing conclusion to this series. This whole series was so much fun to read!
This is the first Charley Davidson book that I have NOT read on audiobook. I was please to found I enjoyed it just as much in print as I enjoyed the audiobooks. Still, shout out to the audiobooks…they are really well done.
Charley has returned from the plane she was banished to as punishment and now must deal with the aftermath of her and Reyes’s actions. The hell dimension they opened is expanding and leaving demonic chaos in its wake. Apparently the key to solving the mystery of the hell dimension lies in the secrets of Charley’s mother’s death. Woven into all of this are other small mysteries involving a serial killer and ghostly children.
This was an incredibly fun read that I had trouble putting down. Jones always does an amazing job blending multiple storylines together in a way that it unpredictable and entertaining.
I loved how things wrapped up here. You can tell that things are obviously being set up for a follow-up series. I hope we see a follow-up series featuring Osh and Beep.
Overall this was an amazing conclusion to this highly creative and entertaining series. I would highly recommend to those who enjoy light urban fantasy with a bit of romance. I am eager to see what Jones next project will be!
