“Nimona is an impulsive young shapeshifter with a knack for villainy. Lord Ballister Blackheart is a villain with a vendetta. As sidekick and supervillain, Nimona and Lord Blackheart are about to wreak some serious havoc. Their mission: prove to the kingdom that Sir Ambrosius Goldenloin and his buddies at the Institution of Law Enforcement and Heroics aren’t the heroes everyone thinks they are.
But as small acts of mischief escalate into a vicious battle, Lord Blackheart realizes that Nimona’s powers are as murky and mysterious as her past. And her unpredictable wild side might be more dangerous than he is willing to admit.”
I have been wanting to read this graphic novel for awhile and was very excited to get it for Christmas. This book was everything I expected and more. The writing was amazing, the illustration was unique and easy to follow. I loved the characters and the story a ton!
Nimona signs on to become Lord Ballister Blackheart’s apprentice. Blackheart is a villain with a vendetta against the hero of the realm. However, Nimona finds out that Blackheart isn’t quite the villain she thought he was and starts to learn to temper her own destructive urges as a result. However, the mystery remains exactly what is Nimona and where did she come from?
This was an amazing book. Everything about it was perfect from the brightly colored illustration, to the intriguing characters, and the action-packed story. My 11 year old son also read this book and loved it as well.
Overall I really loved this book. Just can’t say enough good things about it. The illustration, the story, the characters, everything about it was great. I would recommend to those who enjoy humorous, heartfelt, fantasy graphic novels.
