“At Miss Qiunzella Thiskwin Penniquiqul Thistle Crumpet’s Camp for Hardcore Lady Types, things are not what they seem. Three-eyed foxes. Secret caves. Anagrams! Luckily, Jo, April, Mal, Molly, and Ripley are five rad, butt-kicking best pals determined to have an awesome summer together…and they’re not gonna let a magical quest or an array of supernatural critters get in their way! The mystery keeps getting bigger, and it all begins here.”
This is the first book in the Lumberjanes series; there are ten books in this series right now. This was a very well done graphic novel that I enjoyed a ton. I loved the fantasy, friendship, adventure and humor in this book.
This graphic novel introduces us to a unique group of young women at camp who have a knack for getting into trouble. It’s not just any type of trouble either, they continuously run into bizarre creatures and unexpected adventures. They need to discover the mystery of what is going on here!
The drawing is colorful, well done, and easy to follow. I enjoyed it a lot. This was a hugely entertaining book that was lots of fun to read and laugh-out loud funny while still having a lot of heart.
Overall I loved this first graphic novel and plan on continuing with the series! I would recommend to those who enjoy humorous fantasy set in a contemporary setting.
