ALPHA
Biffy, newly minted Alpha of the London Pack, is not having a good Christmas. His Beta abandoned him. His werewolves object to his curtain choices.
And someone keeps leaving human babies on his doorstep.
BETA
Professor Randolph Lyall returns home to London after twenty years abroad to find his pack in chaos and his Alpha in crisis. It will take a lot of Beta efficiency to set everything to rights. Perhaps, in the process, he may even mend his own heart.
This book is the second book in the Supernatural Society series, which is a series of novellas featuring side characters from the Parasol Protectorate series. This book features Biffy and Lyall.
I always enjoyed both Biffy and Lyall as characters and was excited to read their “story”. This book was a bit more focused on solving a mystery than solely on the romance between Biffy and Lyall (unlike “Romancing the Inventor” which was very romance focused). In this story Biffy and Lyall are trying to figure out why infants keep showing up on the doorstep of there new pack home.
The story is well written and very humorous. It as a fun and quick read. This is a great supplement to the Parasol Protectorate series and the Custard Protocol series; I would recommend reading at least the Parasol Protectorate series first so that you have the background for Biffy and Lyall in hand.
Overall a well done novella for fans of the Parasol Protectorate series. This is a fun read that does an excellent job of filling out the background of two wonderful characters from that series.
