“Nanami doesn’t want to miss out on the fun when a hot teen idol joins the student body. Tomoe reluctantly agrees to let her go, as long as she conceals her divine mark. After all, what could possibly go wrong at high school…?”
This is the 2nd book in the Kamisama Kiss series. This continues to be a humorous and cute shoujo series, I am enjoying it a lot.
Nanami doesn’t want to miss out on her high school years, especially when a hot teen idol is rumored to be attending her school this year. Tomoe agrees to help her hide her divine mark so she can safely go to school. However, this teen idol is not what he at first appears to be and this little high school excursion could cost Nanami her temple.
The synopsis for this volume makes it seem pretty light and fluffy, and parts of it are. However, a lot happens in this volume including an angry neighboring god trying to take over Nanami’s temple. While there is a lot of humor in this series, there is also some interesting Japanese mythology and some serious story development.
This manga series is well drawn and I enjoy the characters a lot. The story and the humor make this really engaging and fun to read.
Overall I am continuing to really enjoy this series. I would recommend to those who enjoy lighter shoujo with a lot of humor and some Japanese mythology. I am liking this a lot and plan to continue with the series.
