2020 Personal and Blogging Resolutions
Personal Resolutions Are:
1. Spend Less Money on Personal “Stuff”
This is a more specific subset of the 2019 “Get my material life under control” resolution. I started tracking our spending at a much more detailed level in 2019 and found out that I spend way more money than I should in random crap (mainly clothes). It provides an initial excitement during the purchase but then I feel awful about it afterwards. I am trying to get this under control. I would like to keep my monthly spending on random things for myself to $300 per month. I am also going to add things I want to buy online to my Amazon wishlist first and then go back in a week and make sure I still want them. I am hoping this will help to curb online impulse purchases.
2. Get My Weight Down by 10 lbs
I am planning on taking a more aggressive approach to this this year. I am going to continue lifting heavier weights, which I did last year. I will continue with my morning stretches and would like to add a small workout component to my morning routine (squats, push-ups, sit-ups). I am also going to go back onto a lower carb diet but in a more gradual way. Last year I went keto from a pretty high carb diet and realized how dumb that was (I got pretty sick). I am taking a more gradual approach to that this year. As a stretch goal I would like to stop drinking alcohol as well.
Blogging Resolutions Are:
1. Continue doing more bookish videos on YouTube on different topics
I started doing more Youtube videos and video editing last year and really enjoy it. I would like to expand on this a bit, doing more videos on different bookish topics.
2. Read less books this year
I would again like to read even less books this year. I really want to focus on my health, volunteering, family, and growing out my YouTube content.
