After traveling to the mystical township of Kalhn with her new master to buy a casting wand, a strange, masked witch transports Coco and her three sister apprentices to an eerily quiet city. But they soon find out that they’re not alone, and they encounter a ferocious dragon! Do these fledgling witches have what it takes to defeat the fire-breathing beast, or will their plans and lives go up in flames?!”
Series Info/Source: This is the second book in the Witch Hat Atelier series. I got this book as a Mother’s Day gift. Right now there are six books in this series with the 7th to be published in the USA in December.
Story (5/5): I continue to really love this story. It’s full of magic and adventure and I really enjoy it a ton. It starts out right where the first volume left off, Coco and her fellow apprentices are transported to a tower with a dragon in it by a strange masked witch. They are forced to face off against the dragon in order to escape. We also meet the other witch who resides in their residence and learn about how much he likes to tinker and build things.
Characters (5/5): I enjoy all of the characters in this manga immensely. They are all well done. So far a reasonable number of characters have been introduced and it’s been easy to keep track of and follow.
Setting (5/5): I loved getting to journey to the magical town of Kalhn and the face off with the dragon. This is an excellent fantasy setting and there is some excellent world-building in here.
Writing/Drawing Style (5/5): This story has been very engaging and easy to follow. I think the drawing throughout is some of the best I have seen in a manga. The detail is beautiful and it’s just amazing to look at. I really, really love how this manga is drawn.
My Summary (5/5): Overall I continue to really love this series a ton. It is so beautifully drawn and I really enjoy the story and characters as well. This is just a nice story full of enthusiastic characters. It’s one that is great for all ages but still really engaging for adults. I absolutely love it and can’t wait to get the next volume in it!
