“In a world that’s conquered death, will humanity finally be torn asunder by the immortal beings it created?
Citra and Rowan have disappeared. Endura is gone. It seems like nothing stands between Scythe Goddard and absolute dominion over the world scythedom. With the silence of the Thunderhead and the reverberations of the Great Resonance still shaking the earth to its core, the question remains: Is there anyone left who can stop him?
The answer lies in the Tone, the Toll, and the Thunder. ”
Series Info/Source: This is the final book in the Arc of a Scythe series. I purchased this book from Audible.
Audiobook Quality (5/5): The audiobook is very well done. Absolutely no complaints. This is a series I would recommend reading on audiobook if you enjoy audiobooks.
Story (5/5): This is a hard story to talk about without spoilers. So, suffice to say this did an amazing job of tying up the story very nicely. There are some intriguing twists and turns that kept me guessing, but I ended up really loving how everything played out. The only small complaint I have is that I felt like the ending was really drawn out, I kept thinking the book was over and then there would be yet another chapter. It did tie up everything very thoroughly but felt a bit over done.
Characters (5/5): The characters in this series are amazing. All of our favorites are here along with a few new ones. Not really much else to say other than all the characters (side and main) were just incredibly well done and thought out.
Setting (5/5): I continued to love this odd futuristic world and really enjoy how much thought was put into building it out. It’s an amazing world and seems so real.
Writing Style (5/5): Shusterman really outdid himself on this series. There is so much food for thought here and it was amazingly well done. The story changes POV a lot in this book but it never felt forced, everything was seamless and meshed together perfectly. This was a very impressive series. Me and my 13 year old son both absolutely loved it.
My Summary (5/5): Overall I am really really happy I read this series and was impressed with how the series was concluded. This was a unique story that provided a lot of food for thought as well as an engaging story and amazing characters. I would definitely recommend it to pretty much everyone. I can’t wait to see what Shusterman does next!
