“Coco and her peers follow Olruggio and Luluci as they deftly ferry a wounded Qifrey to the underwater Great Hall where witches gather. To their surprise, Beldaruit of the Three Wise Ones awaits the young apprentices at the bottom of the ocean… And he’s willing to offer another trial after Agott’s and Richeh’s was cut short. But the spells and tests of Beldaruit are as much a mystery to unfold as his past, and Coco may be the only one who can put the pieces together and close in on the startling truth…”
Series Info/Source: This is the 6th volume in the Witch Hat Atelier series. I bought a copy of this book.
Story (4/5): This felt like a bit of a transitional volume and didn’t have as much excitement as previous volumes but rather more politics. Coco and her friends arrive at the underwater city where the Great Hall is located in a desperate effort to get Qifrey help. To their surprise Beldaruit (one of the Wise Ones) takes an interest in them and offers to redo their trial since it was interrupted…however, he offers to let all four girls take the trial, not just Agott and Richeh.
Characters (5/5): I loved some of the character development here. The girls are starting to trust each other and work as a team. Beldaruit was an intriguing addition to the story and you can’t help but wonder what his motivation is. All the characters are incredibly well done and well developed.
Setting (5/5): The setting continues to be absolutely magical and amazing. Most of this volume we are in a magical underwater city, which is beautiful and stunningly creative. I adored it.
Writing/Drawing Style (5/5): This is one of the most beautifully drawn mangas I have ever read. There is so much beautiful detail on every page. The writing is very well done too. The story is cohesive and creative and I love pretty much everything about it.
My Summary (5/5): Overall this continues to be an amazing fantasy manga series and I really love it. The drawing quality is amazing and the story and characters are incredibly well done. If you are looking for a solid fantasy manga series to read I highly recommend this one. It’s just so well done and so magical!
