“Valerie Costa was pretty sure she was rocking her forties. She had an amazing coffee shop, two cool teenagers, and a new superpower that gave her insight into any random object she touched.
Okay, she wasn’t thrilled about that last one.
Ever since Val and her two best friends had driven their car off the edge and into Glimmer Lake the year before, Val has struggled with her new abilities. She’s not exactly sure she wants to be psychic, she could live without her newfound glove addiction, and honestly no one wants to know that much about their teenage sons.
But when Val’s ex-husband goes missing, and police show up at her door with questions she can’t answer, Val, Robin, and Monica are going to have to use their sudden psychic abilities to solve a mystery none of them saw coming.”
Series Info/Source: This is the second book in the Glimmer Lake series. I borrowed this for my Kindle through Kindle Unlimited.
Story (5/5): I really enjoyed this series a lot. This story features Val as she struggles to help find her missing ex-husband. Val and her friends have to combine their psychic powers to solve this mystery….and Val already has a lot going on! This was a fun read, that had a very satisfying mystery, and was very heartfelt.
Characters (5/5): This is a very character driven story and all the characters are very well done. I loved Val and the way she interacted with her two boys. I continue to love Robin and Monica as well. Watching Val interact with her ex and watching her fall in love with the Sheriff was really interesting. I just love these characters so much, they are so human and real and easy to love.
Setting (5/5): I continue to really enjoy the small town setting of Glimmer Lake. In this book we venture a bit further off the beaten path, which I enjoyed. The description in here is awesome and makes it really easy to get the feel of the town and picture the setting.
Writing Style (5/5): This book (same as the first book) was so easy to read and so well written. It has a good mystery, fun paranormal powers, lovable characters, and a bit of romance. Everything is very well balanced and I absolutely loved every minute of this book. When I finish this series I definitely plan on checking out more books by Hunter.
My Summary (5/5): Overall I really loved this book and have completely fallen in love with this series. I love the characters and the family dynamics. I love the mystery and the slightly creepy supernatural powers our characters have and I love Glimmer Lake. This is such a fun and heartwarming read that just leaves you feeling positive and happy. I can’t wait to read the third book in the series, “Psychic Dreams”.
