Series Info/Source: I got this as a gift. This is the 1st volume in the Hellsing Deluxe manga editions.
Story (5/5): Since I have already reviewed the whole Hellsing series in whole I am not going to go into detail here. This volume covers the following story arcs: Vampire Hunter, Master of Monster, Murder Club. Sword Dancer, Dead Zone, Balance of Power, Elevator of Action, Age of Empire, Call to Power, Ultima Online, D.
Characters (5/5): Love all the characters in here and love this series. It was great to see them in their original full size format.
Setting (5/5): I have always loved the setting for this series. Again, love the full format version of this, you get to see a lot more detail and it’s easier to read.
Writing/Drawing Style (5/5): This is one of my all time favorite manga series. I read it in the released small format and then also really enjoyed the Hellsing Ultimate anime series that was released (really recommend this if you enjoy the manga). Getting to see this manga in its original full size format (the size it was originally released in the Japanese magazine) was amazing. Production quality of this book is amazing too. I love the binding, the quality of the print, and the ribbon for marking your place. It really feels like you are reading something extra special and is a great collector’s item. Only downside is that it is really heavy weight-wise 🙂
My Summary (5/5): Overall if you are a huge fan of the Hellsing series I would definitely recommend picking up the Deluxe volumes if you can afford them. Even if you haven’t read the whole series this is an amazing way to experience it. I plan on purchasing the whole collection of the Deluxe volumes so I can re-read them over and over again. These are very high quality books and IMHO worth the price.
