“ After the time and space shifting journey of the last arc, Norton and Clara are trapped in “small town” Gideon Falls with a murderous psychopath. Meanwhile, Father Fred and Angie confront the Bishop in “big city” Gideon Falls and the secrets of “The Pentoculus Machine” are revealed in all their mind-twisting glory. And what will happen when The Ploughman finally answer the call of duty?”
Series Info/Source: This is the fourth volume in the Gideon Falls graphic novel series; there are 6 volumes in this series. I bought a copy of this book.
Thoughts: This is the volume where the craziness starts to come together. True evil is visited upon the small town Gideon Falls where Norton and Clara are trapped. The Ploughman group is forced into action to stop the developing evil.
Meanwhile, Father Fred and Angie finally come face to face with the Bishop and learn about the Pentoculus. The two are sent on a mind boggling journey to the center where they must try to stop the evil once and for all. The graphic novel alternates back and forth between these two different storylines.
I continue to really like the way this series is laid out panel-wise and really enjoy how the story is coming together. I am super excited to see how things roll out in the last two volumes. I will say that this volume was just a bit slower than previous ones and the panel layouts weren’t quite as unique and interesting.
My Summary (4/5): Overall this was another very good installment in the Gideon Falls series. I love how the story is coming together. However, I do feel like this volume moved a bit slower than previous ones and thought that the panel layout wasn’t as creative. I am still very eager to see how things continue in volumes 5 and 6.
