“It’s time for a magical battle Jessie isn’t sure she’s prepared for.
Elliot Graves has been a thorn in Jessie’s side since before she agreed to take the house magic. He has constantly brought the fight to her doorstep.
Not this time.
With the help of Austin’s shifters, the Ivy house crew will meet Elliot Graves in one of the most dangerous places imaginable – his home turf.
But not before another creature joins the circle.”
Series Info/Source: This is the fifth book in the Leveling Up series. I borrowed this book through Kindle Unlimited.
Thoughts: This is the book where things really start to come together. The mystery behind Elliot Graves is revealed and Jessie really starts to accept and come into her power. Most of this book takes place at an underground location of Graves’ choosing and I did miss Ivy House some (although the house is in the story here and there).
I really loved this book! There are so many interesting magical things going on here and I loved getting a look at the larger magical politics in play. It was amazing to see Jessie’s team really start to come together and do some amazing things. It was intriguing to meet some other magical people and to learn more about Graves and his past.
There is a lot of magical action, some politics here, and of course a lot of humor…which I loved! I think this is a really great continuation of this series and I love the direction it is heading in.
My Summary (4.5/5): Overall this was a fantastic installment in this urban fantasy series. I love watching Jessie and her team grow in both power and understanding of each other. This is a fun and fast-paced read with some fantastic magic/urban fantasy elements. This series has been just pure fun to read and I would recommend it to those looking for a fun and magic-intensive urban fantasy series.
