“Life is busier than ever for Innkeeper, Dina DeMille and Sean Evans. But it’s about to get even more chaotic when Sean’s werewolf mentor is kidnapped. To find him, they must host an intergalactic spouse-search for one of the most powerful rulers in the Galaxy. Dina is never one to back down from a challenge. That is, if she can manage her temperamental Red Cleaver chef; the consequences of her favorite Galactic ex-tyrant’s dark history; the tangled politics of an interstellar nation, and oh, yes, keep the wedding candidates from a dozen alien species from killing each other. Not to mention the Costco lady.”
Series Info/Source: This is the sixth book in the Innkeeper Chronicles. I borrowed a copy of this on ebook through Kindle Unlimited.
Thoughts: This is the sixth full length book in the Innkeeper Chronicles. This is a series that is published serially on the Andrews’ blog but periodically released in book format. I absolutely loved this, it was such a fun and creative read. I was so happy to be back in the world of the Innkeeper Chronicles reading about Sean and Dina and their crazy intergalactic guests!
In this volume Sean Evans’ werewolf mentor is kidnapped and things get a bit crazy when Dina and Sean try to figure out a way to gate to the inhospitable planet that he has been taken too. In an effort to get information and transport, they agree to host an intergalactic spouse searching show for the Dominion. It’s an event no Inn wants to host because none of the species involved really like each other that much and they keep trying to kill each other. It’s very much “The Bachelor” but with deadly alien species and world crushing politics involved.
This was incredibly fun. I love Gertrude Hunt and Dina and Sean and all their support staff. The characters here are insanely crazy. I loved meeting all the new species of aliens and visiting new worlds. I also really enjoyed watching all the cool new things that Gertrude Hunt can do as her power increases. The end of the book set us up for a whole new crazy story line and was also a ton of fun.
Everything about this was just so entertaining and fun to read. It’s a longer book in this series but I couldn’t put it down and kept coming up with more excuses to wander away and sit down and read it.
My Summary (5/5): Overall I absolutely loved this installment in the Innkeeper Chronicles. There is a ton of action, adventure, politics, and humor in here. I loved the creativity throughout and enjoyed meeting all the new species, watching their antics, and learning about what new and amazing things Gertrude Hunt and Dina can do together. I am excited to see where this series goes and have been so spoiled with all of the Andrews’ books I have been getting to read lately!
