“What happened last night? Ella can’t seem to remember a single thing from the party the night before at a mysterious stranger’s mansion, and she sure as heck doesn’t know why she’s woken up in her bed surrounded by a magpie’s nest of objects that aren’t her own. And she can’t stop thinking about her huge crush on Madeleine, who she definitely can’t tell about her sudden penchant for kleptomania… But does Maddy have secrets of her own? Can they piece together that night between them and fix the mess of their chaotic personal lives in time to form a normal, teenage relationship? That would be nice.”
Series Info/Source: This is a stand alone book. I got a copy of this in paperback for Christmas.
Thoughts: This was a cute and sweet graphic novel that I enjoyed. The illustration is easy to follow and cartoony and bright.
I enjoyed getting to know Ella and Maddy and watching them work through their issues together. The heists they go on together to return stolen goods are entertaining and fun.
This was a sweet read that is a bit of a coming of age story and a bit of a romance with some thievery and shenanigans thrown in.
My Summary (4/5): Overall this was a cute graphic novel and I enjoyed it. The illustration was well done and the characters are engaging and fun to get to know. I enjoyed all the little schemes to return the stolen items. If you are looking for a fun contemporary fiction graphic novel with some romance, a bit of a coming of age feel, and some fun shenanigans I would recommend this.
