“Kianthe and Reyna are ready to finally walk down the aisle–in just seven days, their wedding of a wifetime will be a reality. There’s loads to do–but like all best laid plans, everything seems to be going awry.
Between their baby dragons causing mayhem in Tawney, Kianthe’s uptight parents inviting themselves to the wedding, and Reyna becoming embroiled in a secret plot to overthrow Queen Tilaine, the world seems against them–how are they going to live long enough to say “I do”?”
Series Info/Source: This is the 3rd book in the Tomes and Tea series. I borrowed this on ebook from my library.
Thoughts: This was a good installment in the Tomes & Tea series. The beginning of the book felt a bit scattered to me, but as it continued, I got sucked in to the story. I continued to enjoy the town of Tawney and all the crazy people that live there.
Kianthe and Reyna are finally getting married. Of course, nothing is ever that simple for them. Their wedding involves a plot to overthrow Queen Tilaine, a lost heir, pirates and baby dragons.
There was less action and adventure in this books than in previous books in this series. We are in Tawney the whole book. At times Kianthe and Reyna just seem like they are running back and forth dealing with various items and because of this there wasn’t as much of the humor and coziness that we’ve seen in previous books.
I did continue to enjoy the town of Tawney and all of the quirky residents there. Both Kianthe and Reyna have shown a lot of character growth over the series and that is fun to watch. The baby dragons were a cute addition and added some chaos to the story.
My Summary (4/5): Overall this was a solid addition to the Tomes & Tea series. I didn’t like it quite as much as the previous book, it just didn’t have as much action and adventure. I continue to enjoy the town of Tawney and the entertaining characters. I would recommend to those who enjoy cozy fantasy with a bit more politics and edge. I am looking forward to seeing how things wrap up in the final book of the series!
